PIAGAM 2010 SMK Telaga, Pitas
Salam moci-moci,
From June 22nd-26th 2010, I think these three words "exciting, wonderful & exhausted" can be used to express our feeling starting from begining towards the end of the "Novice Teacher Interaction" Program 2010 which been held in SMK Telaga. This program aimed to enable teacher trainees from all local universities to explore and experience the real and natural life as a teacher in the remote area in Sabah.
Consist of four lecturers and 18 students, my team reached at SMK Telaga about 2pm after almost 5 hours traveling on the road. Upon arrival, the school committee for the PIAGAM and his team had been waiting with a big smile. Stay with adopt family in the kampong might be the best part of the program. Since the first day until the end of the progam, all participants were so excited engaging in all activities, highly motivated and cohesive.
Nontheless, the school committee and the community of kg Telaga should be given two thumbs up in terms of their cooperation and involment. Outstanding............

Next Outreach Program
My dear initiators & volunteers,
Our previous outreach programs had been well performed, the programs' impact upon community in six different remote areas definately showed a lot of changes & successfully enhancing their interest toward education & the needs for change. All this while, they've been struggling to stand on their own with too little knowledge & limited opportunities, facing rapid changes in every aspects of life.
Therefore, it is our obligation to share them our knowledge, creativity & skills. For this reason, there will be atleast two outreach programs in oct-nov 2010. A few remote locations came into consideration - Salarom Taka / Babalitan in Nabawan; Kuamut, Kinabatangan & Paitan / Pulau Jambongan in Beluran.
Hence, i humbly invite to those who are concern to enhance education in remote area community & those who love to face challenges, join me to scaling up their knowledge. Extend your creativity & develop your multiple skills to bring about changes thru this outreach program. Always bear in mind that we have the strength to share with.

The Wind of Change In Salarom Taka, Nabawan, Sabah
Congratulation to all SUEC participants & volunteers,
Two days before we start our outreach program in a new location, Salarom Taka, also in Nabawan, we had too little opportunity to reorganize the program since we had no picture at all about the community and it's surrounding situation. Everyone was totally out of idea due to lack of information. But somehow, when we heard the convincing voice from Mr Anthony Amin, the Head Master of SK Salarom Taka (one of key person in Salarom Taka), we felt that there is still hope awaiting. Within 24 hours, we tried to reshuffle some activities to make it feasible to be carried out in the new location appropriately.
On the May 13th, after five hours traveling on the road from Kota Kinabalu, the SUEC chairman, Dr Khalid Johari, as usual, being the first who manage to find the place at 2.00pm, then followed by the groups of 18 participants and 23 volunteers after two hours later. Standing right infront of the long house of Salarom Taka, most of us were still uncertain on what would be happened. A little chat with the Head of the long house, Mr Mandaun, with his friendly voice and fluent Bahasa Melayu speaking, the uncertain hope upon the outreach program slowly vanished. Later, together with Mr Anthony Amin, Mr Jasmen Elahan, the program coordinator and his units had a brief meeting to rearrange some activities to make them more meaningful for Salarom Taka's community.
to be continued...

Latest Info About Our Outreach Program In Nabawan, Sabah
To all SUEC participants & volunteers,
Our outreach program which was scheduled to be carried out in Babalitan, Nabawan have been relocated to another interior area but still remain in Nabawan. This last minute changes made due to the latest situation in Babalitan and its surrounding area. There were three bridges along the road from Sepulut to Salong, are now "out of service", hacked by flooding river recently. Unfortumately, at the same time, our coordinator for the outreach program have been hospitalized for medical purpose.
As the initiator, we never retreat easily. Hence, for the safety of our participants and volunteers, we manage to divert the location of our outreach program to another interior area without reduce the challange to be faced of. The new location is Salarom. There might be 3-4 villages will be involved in the 13-16 Mei program.
Good luck and dedicate your effort to assist them in exploring opportunities for their bright future.

News for Community Project Initiators
Salam to all my dedicated project directors and respective committee,
I have news for u all, i've learned that PPD in Beluran have requested our committee for Sungai-Sungai to get permission first from KPM before conducting the project. But the good news for them is that they probably will be fully sponsored by someone from Beluran (anonym). We hope the committee members for Sungai2 will be more tougher and prepared for other alternatives.
So far, our committees have tried and still seeking for more fund rising. Just to share some adrenaline-increase news that some of our committees have been granted some amount of cash.
Information about transportation
i've spoken to Ms Masnizah (HEP) regarding our request for transportation. According to her, all five requests of our projects will be approved as long as we submit our request ealier, to enable them to arrange things for us.
What ever the constraints are, as an educator, the fulfillment of community needs for knowledge would be our highest priority.
Always remember.. we are the hope of our next generation.
Be tough and Good luck
